Naturopathic doctors (NDs) have been registered in BC under the health legislation since 1923 and are licensed to provide primary care. They are trained as general practitioners in complementary medicine, providing a full range of diagnostic tests and therapies. Dr. Rod Santos completed a BSc in Microbiology at the University of BC in 1999 and completed his Naturopathic Medicine training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2003. He is in good standing at the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC and serves as an assessor in the quality insurance committee of the college. Dr. Santos believes that the best approach in treating patients is to utilize both conventional and alternative drugs and therapies. This synergy can be powerful yet minimizes and even eliminates many side effects. Dr. Santos has been in practice since 2003 and has board certifications in ozone therapy, acupunctre, IV therapy, prescriptions, botox, dermal fillers and prolotherapy. His special interest includes the treatment of chronic pain such as osteoarthritis and sport injuries; cosmetic treatments such as botox and dermal fillers; weight loss and the treatment and support of patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.

Yes, most extended medical plans include coverage for Naturopathic treatments and consultations. However, at our clinic, patients much pay for the service first and submit their receipts to their insurance. Nowadays, most of these claims can be done online and even through apps on your phone. And reimbursements are usually distributed the next day or two. Please note, cosmetic services are not covered  until insurance. It is best to speak with your insurance regarding the specifics of your plan.
